FOUR STAGES OF HAIR GROWTH
Anagen Phase:
This is the longest and growing period of hair. This period is about 3 to 5 years. Which can continue up to 7 years. During this period, hairs are coming out from our hair follicles until their period does not end or they do not fall out or get cut.
Hair loss is when something stops the hairs on your head from growing. Unless you treat the cause, the hair doesn't start growing again and Shedding is when your hair is still growing, but more hairs than usual fall out each day.
Sometimes this case takes such a frightening form that one begins to fear baldness. And this condition can occur in both men and women. Hair falls was also calling alopecia. And this condition lasts for a long time.
Catagen Phase- Transition phase:
The phase after anagen is the catagen phase. In this the hair follicles shrink, and hair growth slows down. This period is about 10 days. Our hair starts separating from the hair root but does not fall out.Telogen - Resting Phase:
Hair does not grow actively during this period but usually does not shed hair either. During this period, the follicles in the catagen phase start to produce new hair.Exogen- Shedding phase:
we can call this as shedding. During this period, hair falls from the scalp which can last about 2 to 5 months, new hair is growing in the follicle as the old hair falls out.
Difference Between Hair Falls and Hair Shedding:
The main difference between hair falls and hair shedding is Hair fall is seen in everyone which can be permanent or temporary, but hair shedding is more common in mothers who have recently given birth and for temporary only.Hair loss is when something stops the hairs on your head from growing. Unless you treat the cause, the hair doesn't start growing again and Shedding is when your hair is still growing, but more hairs than usual fall out each day.

Almost all new mothers experience hair shedding after giving birth. It begins after 3 to 4 months, and the condition may remain in the mother till the baby is a year old or even earlier. In some mothers, the hair loss is profuse and may stop quickly, while in others, the hair loss may be mild and last for a long time.The main cause of hair loss after childbirth is the change in hormones. After giving birth, the level of estrogen hormones of the mother is very low due to which this hair loss occurs. But this is a temporary process. There is no need to take any medicine or treatment for that. As the baby grows, so does the mother's estrogen levels. Hair loss stops within a year and hair starts growing again. The hair becomes as thick again as it was before. That way it's called hair shedding or postpartum hair loss which is temporary.
